MacTracker is a program that can provide detailed information on every Apple product.The first time I saw the description for this application I thought it was just a list of all the Macintosh computers, but I was wrong. In this database you can find information just about every Apple product ever made.
The producer included information about Apple keyboards, displays, mouse, printers, and scanners, as well as digital cameras, iPod, AirPort, Base Stations, and the Newton and Mac OS versions from 5.0 to the current one. The categories are pretty well structured and you can find everything at its place. You can even find a time category where all the products that appeared in a certain year are structured.
The search engine is good. It has an advanced search feature that I enjoyed using. If you want to find a certain item, a database like this can be surfed pretty hard without a search engine.
Another nice thing is the detection engine. The application detected the type of Mac I am using. Well, it returned two results because it couldn't exactly decide which one it was, but the first one was the right one.
The returned information for the selected item is detailed. I could even hear the startup and the death chime for every Mac, but these are not that important. The detailed hardware information and compatibility list is.
